We are an all-volunteer membership organization that helps Greenbelt residents who need assistance to live independently in their own homes.
Services
Here are some of the services provided by GIVES volunteers:
- Transportation to appointments and shopping
- Online shopping pick up (pre-paid)
- Pet Sitting*
- Respite Care*
(*Requires in home assessment.)
We provide services from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm daily. *Requires in home assessment.
If you need help, please fill out the membership application form. Once you are a member, we send your request to our member service providers and see if we can find a match.
We are not an emergency service and need 4 business days notice in order to search for and match your needs with a volunteer provider. Weekend days are not business days and should not be included in the four day time table.
Because we transport people in our cars our insurance company requires people receiving or providing services to be a GIVES member.
We will process your application as soon as possible to get services to you.

Volunteers are available to take calls every weekday morning between 10:00 am and noon and afternoons between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. We provide services from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm daily.
At other times, you may leave a phone message and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
